Hong Sao Mushrooms with Bok Choy

 
Hong Sao Mushrooms with Bok Choy (serves 4) Ingredients:
  • 300 gm button Mushrooms
  • 6 Bok choy
  • 2 table spoons sesame oil
  • 2 table spoons white/red wine
  • ½ cup soya sauce
  • 3 table spoons brown sugar
  • 4 table spoons chopped garlic
  • 1 table spoon grated ginger
  • 3 dried red chilies
  • 1 tea spoon black pepper
  • 3pc star anise
  • 1 tea spoon red peppercorn
  • salt to taste
Method:
  • In a pan add ½ cup soya sauce, 2 table spoons of chopped garlic, grated ginger, star anise, dry chilies, red pepper corns, brown sugar, pinch of salt, black pepper and wine. Cook on a slow flame for 10 minutes. Keep the sauce aside.
  • Pre-heat the oven at 200 degrees Celsius. In a baking tray place the Bok Choy. Sprinkle a bit of salt and black pepper. Bake it for 5-10 minutes. 
  • In a pan add sesame oil and 2 table spoons of chopped garlic and mushrooms. Sauté till the mushrooms gets little crispy. Add the soya sauce to it and sauce again till the mushrooms are well coated with the sauce.
  • In a platter arrange the Bok choy on the side and Mushrooms by the side. Serve it hot and enjoy.
